Procurou-se verificar o efeito de doses de boro, em diferentes condicoes de acidez do solo, no desenvolvimento das plantas e na producao de graos da cultura da soja, tentando estabelecer os niveis criticos do elemento no solo. Para tal, realizou-se um experimento em casa de vegetacao, com cinco doses de boro, ou seja, 0,0; 0,2; 0,4; 0,6 e 0,8 ppm, em tres niveis de acidez do solo conseguidas pela aplicacao de doses de CaO e MgO: 1) 172g de CaO e 0,41g de MgO, 2) 2,76g de CaO e 0,66g de MgO, e 3) sem aplicacao de corretivo, em cada vaso com 4 litros de solo. O solo utilizado foi um latossolo vermelho-escuro, textura argilosa, originalmente recoberto por vegetacao de cerrado. Pelos resultados obtidos, concluiu-se que as doses de boro influenciaram a producao de materia seca da parte aerea e a producao de graos, nos tratamentos que nao receberam corretivo e nos que receberam a dose 1 de MgO e CaO. Houve aumento linear na concentracao de boro no solo com a aplicacao do elemento, sendo os niveis criticos externos de 0,11 e 0,18 ppm de boro para a materia seca da parte aerea, 0,19 e 0,23 ppm de boro para a producao de graos, respectivamente, para os tratamentos que nao receberam corretivo e para os que receberam a dose de CaO e MgO. |

Abstract: Southeastern Brazil has recently experienced drought conditions that have impacted watershed conservation and the management of water quality and quantity for agricultural and urban demands. The Ribeirão das Posses watershed is being monitored as a headwater of the Jaguarí River, which is one of the contributing rivers of the Cantareira Reservoir Complex in the state of São Paulo. The landscape has changed over the last century from native forests to more homogeneous vegetation for pastures, crops and some forest plantations of eucalyptus, which have cumulative impacts on water yield and quality. Currently, the Projeto Conservador das Águas (Water Conservationist Project) has planted small areas with native species vegetation in order to recover degraded areas. The objective of this study was to evaluate the quantity of water in the Ribeirão das Posses Basin by both measurements and by simulating hydrological responses. The Agricultural Ecosystem Services (AgES) watershed model was applied to simulate water movement and storage among land areas. The simulation period was from 2009 to 2014, because the daily streamflow and meteorological data were available for model calibration and testing. We discuss data input requirements, model calibration to fit measured streamflow, and sensitivity to spatially variable rainfall inputs. The calibrated model may be used to estimate streamflow during periods of missing data, and in the future to estimate impacts of land use changes on stream water quantity and quality. Such information can be used in programs of payments for ecosystem services.
